Max Verstappen has ended speculation about his Formula 1 future by signing a new contract with Red Bull that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2030 season.

The four-time World Champion was already contracted to Red Bull until 2028, but questions over his future had grown as the team struggled to match Mercedes and Ferrari under the new 2026 regulations. Verstappen had been linked with potential moves elsewhere, including Mercedes and McLaren.

Instead, he has chosen to remain with the team that has been at the centre of his F1 career since 2016. Verstappen has won all four of his World Championships with Red Bull and has become one of the most successful drivers in the team's history.

The decision also provides Red Bull with some much-needed certainty as it continues to develop its own power unit in partnership with Ford.

For Verstappen, the challenge now is clear: help Red Bull return to the front of the grid and add to the 71 Grand Prix victories he has already collected.

With the new agreement running through 2030, Verstappen's future is no longer one of the major questions hanging over the F1 driver market.
